The primary election in Montana was June 2. I hope you voted. If not, you have a second chance (with fewer options) in November.

No vote, no voice. Be informed before you vote, but do not let social media influence your decision. Pick print media instead, or better yet, talk to a trusted friend. Words matter.

Activities at the Polson Senior Center include: bingo at 6 p.m. Fridays and card bingo, 6 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays; pinochle, 12:30 p.m. Monday, no pass, and Thursdays, pass four (we switch partners every six hands); pool table available 8 a.m.-3 p.m. daily; mahjong and bridge, noon Wednesdays (looking for substitutes and regular players); exercise class (low impact and video-assisted), 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Also at the center: Kiwanis Club of Polson meets at noon on the third Thursday of each month through June; Spinning Wheelers meet 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays (call 208-520-1013); and the Veterans Service Officer is available from 10 a.m.-noon on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month.

Lunch is served from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday ($5.00 donation; $10 without MASTS form completed). Milk is available with all meals.

Main dishes include: meatballs with sweet and sour sauce, June 4; ham and cheese bake, June 5; beef noodle soup with cheese bread, June 8; hamburger steak, June 10; chicken pot pie, June 11; and hamburger bake, June 12.

Our community center provides space for individuals and groups to meet for physical and mental health, social and educational purposes, and may be reserved for special events on weekends and evenings. We are open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays, or later by appointment.
