CHRISTIANS: If the shoe fits

I’m thoroughly disgusted with how ugly things had gotten with this last election and so are many of the people I talked to door knocking. More specifically, the poor display of Christians and how they attack one another. Satan certainly has been enjoying the awful display.

After witnessing the behavior of so-called Republicans claiming to be Christians this primary season, I can only imagine non-Christians asking, “Why would I want to be a Christian? They can’t get along with each other. If that is what it’s like to be a Christian, I’ll have no part of it.”

Except for certain candidates themselves, disgraceful behavior has been on display. Name calling, false accusations, and little to no respect has been deployed by many. We definitely let Jesus Christ down.

To non-Christians who agree with the above statement, my first disclaimer is, I am a Christian. Am I perfect?  Absolutely not and neither is any Christian. However, has there been a display of childish behavior? Yes. Like all children, when a person accepts Christ, there is a sanctification process, a growing up, a maturing. Immaturity has been on parade.

Christians should be ashamed of their behavior and have a good chat with God and study their Bibles, not just read, but apply it. Start with Psalms 139:23-24: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me; And lead me in the way everlasting.”

Lastly, if this letter upsets you, then perhaps the shoe fits.
