Neighbor creates GoFundMe page for fire victims

KOOTENAI — Several days after a structure fire burned down a family’s home, neighbors have rallied together to create a GoFundMe page for the family, who were displaced from their home Tuesday evening.
According to the GoFundMe, funds raised will go toward helping Rayne Brady and George Rigby find new housing with their three children, along with help to recoup the loss of other daily essentials.
“Not only did they lose their home, but they lost everything in between, including cars, clothes, hygiene products, toys — literally everything,” the GoFundMe said. “When I (Rissa) got to the family about 8:05, I realized that Rayne didn't have any shoes on, so I ran home and got her some flip-flops. Our wonderful community came together even last night and was bringing down clothes and other things for the family.”
The cause of Tuesday night’s fire is unknown and is currently being investigated by the state of Idaho. When the incident was called in, first responders from several fire agencies responded to the scene, containing the fire so the damage couldn't spread past its origin.
At the time of publishing, GoFundMe has raised $1,835 with a goal of raising $30,000. Residents can read more and donate at https://bit.ly/4eovY5n.
