Troy’s State B softball tournament run came to an end Thursday after the Lady Trojans dropped two games at Stewart Park.

Troy opened the tournament with an 11-1 loss to Manhattan, which used a four-run second inning and a seven-run fifth to pull away in the first-round matchup.

Clara Labbe drove in three runs for Manhattan, which improved to 19-7. Labbe gave the Tigers an early lead with an RBI single in the second inning. Later in the frame, Lina Christiansen delivered the big swing, clearing the bases with a three-run double to put Manhattan ahead 4-0.

Troy answered in the fourth when Allie Borgman lined an RBI single to right field, cutting the deficit to 4-1.

Manhattan broke the game open in the fifth. Averie Matheson brought in a run with a double, and the Tigers added to the lead by taking advantage of a walk, a hit batter and two Troy errors to finish the game by run rule.

Christiansen earned the win in the circle for Manhattan, throwing four innings and allowing one run on four hits while striking out five.

Halle Wallace pitched four innings for Troy, allowing eight runs on six hits.

Troy’s season came to an end Thursday night with an 8-1 loss to Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua in a loser-out game.

Glasgow took control early with four runs in the second inning and added one run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to pull away. The Scotties finished with seven hits, while Troy was held to one run on three hits and committed five errors.

The Lady Trojans scored their lone run in the second inning. Hailey Dungan led Troy at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a run scored and two stolen bases. Clara Folkerts added Troy’s other hit.
