Ty Yukumoto hit a two-run single to cap off a five-run eighth inning and help Missoula to a 9-5 victory over Glacier Friday at Glacier Bank Park.

Zach Longshore started strong on the bump for the Range Riders (12-4), going six innings and allowing just one run on seven hits. He fanned four.

Paired with Longshore’s quality start, the bats helped Glacier to a 4-1 lead after two innings.

Tommy Rover knocked in a pair in the second to make it 2-1, followed by a two-run error from Missoula (9-7) as Logan Beard reached third with Rover and Kyle Ashworth scoring.

Carson Hornung added a fifth run on a sacrifice fly in the seventh to make it 5-1, but then Missoula found its groove.

Tyler Stone singled after an RBI groundout got a run in for the Paddleheads. Followed shortly by a bases-loaded walk to make it a 5-4 deficit. Then Yukumoto gave Missoula its first lead since the second inning.

Xavier Casserilla singled in the ninth to score another Paddleheads run. Stone then hit a sacrifice fly before Jeremy Piatkiewicz doubled to score Casserilla and give Missoula a 9-5 advantage.

Brendan Beard started and went 5 1-3 innings for Missoula, allowing four runs and striking out 10. Mark Timmins picked up the win after 1 2-3 innings in relief. Matthew Taubensee closed out the game with two scoreless innings, fanning five.

Jack Maruskin is credited with the loss for Glacier.
