Scottpit Fire burning near Fort Boise Wildlife Management Area

The Idaho Department of Lands and other agencies are responding to the Scottpit Fire burning south of the Fort Boise Wildlife Management Area near the confluence of the Boise and Snake rivers, west/northwest of Parma, a Sunday press release said.
Structures may be threatened, and the Parma Fire Department is assisting with structure protection. Localized evacuations are occurring near the fire. Canyon County Sheriff’s Office is handling evacuations south of the fire near the Martin’s Landing campground area.
The fire started Saturday about 8:23 p.m. and is estimated at 50 acres. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The fire is burning on Idaho Fish and Game land within IDL’s fire protection area. There is currently no containment, the releae said.
Resources responding include two IDL Type 5 engines, Parma Fire Department, and a U.S. Forest Service wildland fire crew. Additional resources are being ordered.
