KCSO arrests 2 on drug charges

Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies arrested two people on drug-possession and other charges early Monday.
Laurie J. Wainwright, 65, of Washougal, Wash., was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a press release said.
Jeannie L. Sanders, 66, also Washougal, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the release, a KCSO deputy contacted occupants of a vehicle parked at a gas station in the 5200 block of West Riverbend Avenue in Post Falls about 2 a.m. During the consensual contact, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view.
Based on probable cause, deputies conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, methamphetamine and marijuana were located in several areas of the vehicle. Deputies also discovered a bag labeled "Smelly Proof" containing multiple plastic bags with about 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, the release said.
