POST FALLS — Twenty-three students and three instructors from Post Falls Music Academy will travel to New York City this summer to perform at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall, one of the most prestigious concert venues in the world.

The July 22 recital represents the culmination of years of dedication, practice, and musical growth for the participating performers. Students from throughout North Idaho and Eastern Washington have spent countless hours preparing for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share their talents on an international stage.

The performance also comes during a special milestone year for Post Falls Music Academy as the academy celebrates its 15th anniversary of serving local families through music education.

“For many musicians, performing at Carnegie Hall is a lifelong dream,” said Dawn Elmer, owner of Post Falls Music Academy, in a press release. “We are incredibly proud of these students and teachers. Their commitment, perseverance, and love of music have made this opportunity possible, and they are wonderful representatives of our local community. Celebrating this experience during our 15th anniversary year makes it even more meaningful.”

The academy's Carnegie Hall performers include Nolan Moehle, Finn Odell, Phoenix Foss, Asher Irvine, Aubrey Rose, Ahneka Cecil and Kellen Araujo.

The performers will present selections on violin, piano, cello, guitar, ukulele, and voice. Before departing for New York, they will also present a free hometown preview recital at Steinway Piano Gallery in Spokane Valley on Saturday, July 18, at 2 p.m.

While Carnegie Hall has welcomed many of the world's greatest musicians throughout its history, this performance highlights the talent, hard work, and dedication of young musicians from our own region. The event also showcases the important role local music education plays in developing confidence, discipline, creativity, and excellence in young people.
