SELLES CELEBRATE GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY
An open house honoring the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Selle will be held Sunday at the First Methodist Church in Sandpoint from 2 to 5 p.m. The open house, given by the Selle’s sons, Mervin, Dewey, J.D. and Elroy, is open to the public and the couple invites “all our friends.”

SUSAN REED GRADUATES
Susan Johnson Reed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Johnson, Sandpoint, last month received her B.S. degree in nursing from Idaho State University in Pocatello. A 1970 SHS graduate, she received a nursing scholarship from Women of the Moose and a First Presbyterian Church scholarship.

INMAN RECORDS HOLE-IN-ONE
Russell Inman Jr. used a 4-iron May 29th to knock a hole-in-one on the Sandpoint Elks Golf Course’s first hole. The 29-year-old Inman has played golf 17 years without accomplishing the feat, considered a miracle among golfers. Witnesses to the event were Bob Shaver, Bill Nordeen and Polly Nordeen, who were golfing with him. Inman fired an 83 on 18 holes after opening in the finest manner possible.

June 9, 1951 — HOME FOR SUMMER
Mrs. Grace Kassens of this city and Miss Irene Lantto of Oden are home for the summer from Wellpinit, Wash., where they taught the past term.

MARKING STREETS IS KIWANIS PROJECT
E.V. Boughton and Karl Greef were the first Kiwanians to work on the club’s summer project, placing street signs at all intersections in the city. The project is going on in work space at the rear of the city fire dept. Four inch strips of lumber, donated by Pack River Lumber co., are being painted white. Later they will be stenciled with the street names in 2½” black letters. Hunter’s paint shop is furnishing the paint for over 470 signs. “An all summer job,” said fire chief Claude Simon, project chairman.

CLASSES IN TWIRLING
Twirling classes are being conducted Monday to Thursday at the high school by Sonia Henriksson, Teddy Baker and Adair Hilligoss. Fifty youngsters from first grade to high school freshmen attend.

OUTSTANDING STUDENTS!
Four eighth graders of the Farmin school were chosen by the American Legion and auxiliary for good citizenship awards. Lois May and Douglas Schedler received first place medals; Janis Osborn and Paul Kelly received honorable mention awards.
