Intersection closure at Highway 53 and McGuire Road set for Thursday

HAUSER — On Thursday, BNSF Railroad is scheduled to perform track maintenance at the McGuire Road railroad crossing adjacent to Highway 53. The crossing will be closed to all traffic from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

While this closure isn’t part of ongoing construction of the Pleasant View Interchange by the Idaho Transportation Department, it will have significant impacts to traffic, especially for those who frequently use McGuire Road to avoid the temporary signal on Prairie Avenue at Highway 53, a press release said.

Later this month, ITD will have a separate overnight closure on Highway 53 to replace a culvert near Hollister Hills Road. Drivers will be detoured at Prairie Avenue and McGuire Road to get around the closure.
