For the remainder of June, the Cawdrey Gallery in Whitefish is displaying an array of giclee reproductions by artists primarily represented by the gallery. The affordable art show gives access to timeless artwork through high-end reproductions.

The reproductions are printed by Digital Planet of Kalispell and use the latest technology to capture the original images with a scan back camera. Each image for each individual artist is color corrected.

Once the color correction is complete and a profile for each artist is developed, Digital Planet can print the reproduction on a sophisticated printer that captures each nuance of the original.

“A giclee is the closest you can get to the original at one tenth of the cost,” said artist Nancy Cawdrey, who has had her work reproduced at Digital Plant for over 25 years. “You can have it custom sized to fit your decorating needs. Most people can’t distinguish the difference between the original painting and a giclee.”

The reproductions include works by Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey, Morgan Cawdrey, Michael Ome Untiedt, Kallie Audet, Richard Rodriguez, Mary Roberson, Dan Custer, Bruce DeFoor and Elena Sanchez, among others.

Cawdrey Gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and is located at 204 Lupfer Ave. in Whitefish. Call 406-730-8680 for further information.
