Daily Inter Lake | Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 2 weeks, 2 days AGO
The top prep rodeo athletes from around the state are gathering at Majestic Valley Arena this weekend, for the 2026 Montana High School Rodeo Finals.
The first round is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and the second round will start at the same time on Friday. Saturday’s championship round is set for 1 p.m.
Several area competitors are in the top eight of their event standings heading into this rodeo. Ruby Ray of Whitefish, for example, is No. 3 in the girls’ all-around; Browning’s Wacey Williams is No. 5 in the boys’ all-around.
Williams is No. 3 in the bareback standings and No. 2 in the bull-riding — a half-point behind Andy Wagner of Billings.
Other top athletes include Tess Megill of Bigfork, who at No. 5 is one spot behind Ray in pole ending. Kalispell’s Isabella Moran is No. 3 in barrel racing, with the top three bunched tightly.
Moran is also No. 1 in the rifle shoot standings, and by quite a bit. In the trap shoot standings Choteau’s Preston Lee has a sizable lead but Kalispell’s Macie Schrekendgust, Eureka’s Wyatt Wilson and Ray sit 5-6-7.
