Borders 3 Jamboree sees strong growth in 27th year

The sounds of classic hits and revving engines filled downtown Bonners Ferry on Saturday as the 27th annual Borders 3 Jamboree brought hundreds of visitors together to celebrate classic cars, community and summertime fun.
From polished hot rods and vintage cruisers to children's games and a limbo contest, the annual event offered something for all ages while drawing 136 vehicle entries, up from 106 entries last year.
Hosted by the Rod Benders Car Club, the show transformed downtown into a showcase of classic automobiles as spectators browsed rows of vehicles, visited vendors and enjoyed the community atmosphere. Oldies music from the event DJ provided a nostalgic soundtrack throughout the day, while families gathered to take part in activities and admire the cars on display.
Although gusty winds swept through downtown at times and a few light sprinkles made brief appearances, the weather proved far better than forecasted, allowing the event to continue uninterrupted and keeping crowds on the streets throughout the day.
Bonners Ferry resident Nona Kaye Clark was among those displaying vehicles at the show. Clark brought her pink 1966 Mustang GT, a car she has owned for more than 30 years. Clark has been attending the Borders 3 Jamboree since the first show 27 years ago.
"It's been a good turnout," Clark said. "These things are just fun."
Clark said community events such as the car show and local parades continue to bring people together and remain an important part of life in Bonners Ferry.
The annual event attracts participants and spectators from throughout the region and has become a longstanding summer tradition in Boundary County. With participation increasing significantly over last year's show, the 2026 Borders 3 Jamboree demonstrated the continued popularity of classic cars and the strong community support behind the event.
