LEGION BASEBALL: Northern Lakes downs Prairie

SPIRIT LAKE — Gage Tenney, a rising junior at Timberlake High, hit a two-run single to give Northern Lakes the lead for good in a 6-2 win over the Prairie Cardinals in a Class A North Idaho League game at John Shaffer Field on Wednesday. 

Nate Beardsall of Timberlake High struck out five in five innings and Jake Larcher of Lakeland High struck out three in two innings for Northern Lakes (3-2, 1-2 NIL). 

Kaiden Kubo of Post Falls had three hits and a run scored for Prairie (0-3, 0-3). 

Prairie is scheduled to host St. Maries in a doubleheader on Saturday. 

Northern Lakes faces Prairie again on Tuesday at Post Falls High.
