Second half of property taxes due by June 20, 2026
Bonners Ferry Herald | UPDATED 3 weeks, 1 day AGO
Boundary County Treasurer Jennifer Economou would like to remind all Boundary County taxpayers that the deadline to pay the second half of 2025 property taxes without penalty is June 20. Because the date falls on a Saturday, payments received Monday, June 22, will be accepted as on time.
Please note that the Boundary County Courthouse will be closed Friday, June 19, in observance of the federal holiday, Juneteenth.
A payment drop box has been installed at the front of the courthouse for those who wish to forego a trip to the office or the cost of postage. All cash payments must be made in person. The drop box is under 24-hour video surveillance and is checked and collected daily. The drop box will be collected at 5 p.m. on due dates; payments deposited after that time will incur a late fee and applicable interest.
Tax payments may be mailed to: Boundary County Treasurer, P.O. Box 218, Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.
Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than June 20, 2026, to avoid penalty. Please note that mail is not always postmarked the day it is delivered to the post office; taxpayers may request a hand-stamped postmark from the post office. When submitting payment by check, please review the check to ensure it is completed properly. Post-dated checks are not accepted and will be returned.
Tax payments may also be made in person by check or cash at the Treasurer's Office, Room 27, in the Boundary County Courthouse, 6452 Kootenai St., Bonners Ferry. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Treasurer's Office continues to experience difficulties processing debit and credit card payments in person. Taxpayers wishing to pay by card should use the online payment option or call the payment processing hotline at 1-833-440-4814. Use the bill number in place of the parcel number when making a payment.
Credit cards and other electronic payment options are available online. These services are subject to a convenience fee charged by the processing company. Payments may be made online at client.pointandpay.net/web/boundarycountytreasurer.
Handicap access is available at the rear of the courthouse. A phone located at the base of the staircase may be used to contact the Treasurer's Office for assistance. The office phone number is posted next to the phone.
