Ruth Marie Lemm, 87, living at Guardian Angels in Post Falls, passed away peacefully June 4, 2026, of natural causes. She was surrounded by loved ones.

Ruth follows her husband, Jim, who passed two years prior. Jim and Ruth were joined in matrimony for 70 years. Ruth leaves behind children Kathy Brown, Lynda Arnold, Jimmy Lemm, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth was active in her children’s schools and worked in the Bluebirds and Cub Scouts. The daughter of Depression-era parents, she had a passion for simple living and for being able to provide for herself. This writer, Jimmy, does question some of the menu choices she’d find growing on the ranch, but I appreciate the effort. Ruth was genuinely a creative and resourceful soul.

Ruth and Jim were longtime residents of the Larson Ranch in Mullan, Idaho, where they raised their children. They all enjoyed nature and the abundant wildlife there. Mullan always held a place in their hearts for the sense of community and hard work.

She was known for being the “R” in J&R Electronics, which was founded by Jim and Ruth. Ruth worked as the office manager for over 40 years. It’s a thriving company operated by their son today.

The family asks that any well wishes be directed to “In Good Company Respite.” In Good Company provides respite care and activities for elders living with dementia. 208-967-4771.
