Street closure notice for Baker Avenue

Baker Ave will be closed north and south of 18th Street on Monday June 15, at 8 a.m. through Wednesday June 24, at 5 p.m. This closure is for necessary water system upgrades for phase 2 of the City of Whitefish South Water Tank project.
Affected residents are asked to take any and all precautions necessary to avoid this area. Southbound traffic will be detoured east to13th Street or 15th Street to U.S. 93, and northbound traffic will be detoured east onto Commerce Street to U.S. 93.
The Whitefish City Council awarded the contract for Phase 2 of the south Whitefish water tank project to Neuman Construction for $2,346,332 in May.
Phase 2 includes the construction of an 18-inch water transmission line from the water tank, located at the city shop on West 18th Street, to U.S. 93. The work includes directional drilling under U.S. 93 and several hydrant leads, fire services and water service crossings.
