All-Idaho high school baseball teams: Coeur d’Alene’s Fenter, Helms named to 6A first team

Coeur d’Alene High seniors Bam Fenter and Gavin Helms were named to the 6A first team as the All-Idaho baseball teams were announced this week by The Idaho Statesman newspaper of Boise. 

Fenter, a third baseman/pitcher who has committed to Lewis-Clark State College, was 4-1 with a 1.81 ERA on the mound for the Vikings, and also hit .457 and drove in 28 runs. 

Helms, a first baseman/right fielder who has committed to NAIA Ottawa University in Surprise, Ariz., batted .434. 

In 5A, Sandpoint senior pitcher/right fielder Sage Medeiros, a Spokane Colleges commit, was named Player of the Year. 

Two other Sandpoint Bulldogs — senior second baseman/shortstop Mason Little, who has committed to Lassen College of Susanville, Calif., and junior left fielder/utility player Brennan Shaw, were also named to the 5A first team. 

Lewiston junior third baseman/catcher Cal Robbins and Sandpoint senior center fielder/pitcher Dallen Williams were each named to the 5A second team. 

First year Bulldogs coach Jesse Dunham was named Coach of the Year. 

In 4A, Timberlake senior pitcher/third baseman Eric Wylie was named to the second team. 

Six members of the state 3A champion Orofino Maniacs were honored. 

Nicholas Bonner, a senior center fielder; Jaeger Tondevold, a senior shortstop; and Quinton Naranjo, a senior third baseman/pitcher, were named to the first team. 

Maniacs coach Scott Tondevold was named Coach of the Year. 

Named to the 3A second team were Orofino senior right fielder/catcher Hunter Gamble, Orofino junior second baseman/pitcher Blake Barlow; and Grangeville senior pitcher/first baseman Trayven Sickels. 

Coaches vote on the all-state teams in their classification. The Statesman publishes the results.
