SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce welcomed Sprig Herbals to the Chamber with a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday, June 6.
A Sandpoint-based herbal supplement company, Sprig Herbals creates handcrafted whole-plant extracts and looseleaf herbal teas for use in everyday food and drink. Founded by local herbalist Victoria Thorburn, Sprig brings a flavor-forward approach to herbal extracts, creating botanical products designed to be used by the drop in coffee, tea, mocktails, desserts and other simple kitchen applications.
At the heart of Sprig is the idea of functional flavors: whole-plant herbal extracts that offer real plant flavor beyond syrups, sweeteners and vague “natural” flavoring, Thorburn said. Rather than treating herbs as something separate from daily life, Sprig makes them approachable, practical and easy to incorporate into familiar foods and beverages.
Sprig Herbals began as a cottage foods business in January 2025 and has since transitioned into a commercial kitchen to support broader sales while preserving its small-batch approach. Victoria’s work is informed by formal herbal study, apprenticeship and more than 500 hours of herbal education.
The company emphasizes organic plant materials, whole-plant preparations and third-party lab testing of finished extracts. Each product is herbalist formulated and rooted in the belief that nature already optimizes plants with beautiful synergy and complexity that gets lost in isolated extracts.
Sprig celebrated its launch in the Tendril Apothecary garden with herbal mocktails, tea and coffee, pastry samples made with Sprig extracts, live music and a Chamber ribbon cutting. The event invited the community to experience Sprig products in the way they are meant to be used: shared, tasted and enjoyed.
