June 14, 1976 – PALMEN TO WED
Steven Palmen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ike Palmen of Sandpoint, will exchange wedding vows July 3 at Jasper, Minn. with Debbie Haroldson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Haroldson of Jasper. The Palmen couple have plans to live in Alexandria, Virginia.

PARADE TIME CHANGED
The Sandpoint Lions have changed the schedule for the annual July Fourth parade. Since July 4 falls on Sunday this year, the usual schedule would have conflicted with church services in the community. Usually judging begins at 8:30 a.m. with the parade following at 10:30. The schedule was changed so judging will begin at 12 noon, with the Kids’ Parade to follow at 1 p.m. The grand parade will commence at 2 p.m. and kids’ events will be held at 3 p.m.

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT OFFICE OPEN
Area youth seeking summer employment will get a helping hand from a new Youth Employment Service Office (YES) recently formed at the local Idaho State Dept. of Employment in the Lake Plaza Building. Heading the YES office, which opened Monday, is 16-year-old SHS student Patricia Hartman, who will register job seekers between the ages of 14 and 21 and direct local employers to them. Funds from the CETA summer employment program provided the money to hire Hartman.

PIONEER FAMILIES UNITED
The Christian church was the setting Saturday, June 9 at 8 o’clock of the wedding of Miss Dolores Nolen and James Turnbull. Before a candle-lighted altar the young couple plighted their troth with Rev, Ken Britt officiating. The ceremony united two of the county’s pioneer families. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nolen of this city; the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Turnbull of Sagle.

NEW OFFICE MANAGER
Roy Oliver, who has resided at Bonners Ferry, is now employed as office manager at Brown Buick company. Mr. Oliver is a “home town boy” but has been away for the past 10 years.

OPEN AIR BAND CONCERT
The first regular open air band concert which was scheduled for tonight on the Farmin school grounds, is postponed one week, due to inclement weather.

PFC CRANDELL TO GERMANY
Pfc. Doyle Crandell is on his way to Germany with a heavy artillery unit of the 22nd infantry division.
