Born on Aug. 13, 1966, in Jacksonville, N.C., Jennifer graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1984. She attended North Idaho College and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Idaho in 1991.

Jennifer devoted 31 years to the United States Navy as an Environmental Engineer. Beginning her career at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Keyport, Wash., decreasing hazardous waste by finding safer alternatives. She then served at Naval Submarine Base Bangor in hazardous waste management before managing regional programs and projects at Great Lakes Naval Command. She continued her career as the first Asbestos Program Manager at Great Lakes until her retirement in 2022.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jennifer was known for her infectious smile, hearty laugh and compassionate spirit. A devoted Christian, she found strength in her faith and daily Bible study. Family was at the center of her life, and she was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

In 2015, Jennifer married John Biesiadecki. Together, they shared a love of travel and adventure, visiting destinations across the country, including Disney World, New York City, Chicago, Oregon’s coast, Mount Rainier, Mount Hood and Hawaii.

Jennifer’s warmth extended to her family, where her support for nieces and nephews in their various endeavors spoke of her nurturing soul. She is survived by her husband, John Biesiadecki; her mother, Jennie Marquez; and her sisters, Virginia Mesenbrink and Arlene Bodie. She was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Marquez, and her brother, Pete Marquez.

In remembrance, Jennifer Marquez’s life is a luminous chapter of brilliance, compassion and unyielding determination. Her legacy resonates in the cleaner waters, the safer communities and the hearts of those she cherished. Though cancer claimed her body, the light she ignited within those who knew her remains unstoppable, a beacon of faith, love and dedication that will forever illuminate the path ahead.
