Fire burning north of Lewiston

LEWISTON – Firefighters are responding to a fire burning near mile marker 315 on Highway 95, north of Lewiston.
The fire started about 2:30 p.m. today and is estimated at 90 acres with 0% containment. The fire is burning in a steep, grassy canyon with areas of brush and timber.
About 10 to 20 structures are threatened. No structures have been lost, and there are currently no evacuations or closures in place, a press release said.
About 65 personnel are assigned to the fire, including six engines, one hand crew and one helicopter. Additional resources are responding, the release said.
Cooperating agencies include the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office, Nez Perce Tribe and Nez Perce County. Additional IDL resources responding include Ponderosa, Craig Mountain, Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective Association, and the Teakean Hand Crew.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
