Lawrence (Larry) Urdahl, 91, fell asleep in death June 6, 2026, in Libby, Montana.
Larry was born on July 18, 1934, to Mildred (Billie) and Albert Urdahl in Poplar, Montana. He was the second oldest of his three brothers and two sisters. His family moved from Poplar to Libby in 1942, where his dad started work at the Zonolite mine.
He fondly remembered his childhood living in South Libby, swimming in the mill ponds and roaming the neighborhood with his friends, always looking for their next adventure.
Larry met Kay Howard at the Blue Bear Cafe, where she was working as a waitress. They fell in love and were married on Oct. 30, 1955. They were blessed with two loving sons, Larry and Tommy.
Through the years, Larry worked many different jobs, from setting pins at the local bowling alley and working on the railroad as a young teen, to working in the woods and eventually buying his own logging truck.
His life was spent enjoying his family and friends, camping at the local lakes, family gatherings at their home, and, of course, the bowling leagues with his lifelong buddies.
Later in life, as they dealt with numerous health challenges, Larry cared for Kay for many years until she passed in 2024. He had a soft heart and a loving spirit.
He is survived by: son Larry (Lynda), three grandsons: Tyler (Jesse), Travis (Bridgett), and Trenton (Courtney), brother Butch Urdahl (Marlys), nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kay, his parents, four siblings, and his beloved son Tommy.
He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Schnackenberg Funeral Home, 422 W 2nd St., Libby, Montana. A memorial reception will follow the service at the Ponderosa Room, 952 E Spruce St., Libby, Montana.
