The Clark Fork Valley Hospital Foundation was recently awarded a grant amounting to $17,148 from First Security Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.
The funding was made possible through the Member Impact Fund, a matching grant program designed to amplify the community engagement of FHLB Des Moines member institutions that support local housing, business, and economic needs.
In Montana, 287 applications received funding through partnerships with 41 member institutions. FHLB Des Moines matched more than $2.40 for every $1 contributed by a member institution, resulting in $1.6 million from members and $4 million awarded by FHLB Des Moines.
“The CFVH Foundation board is particularly excited about this grant opportunity as we are earmarking the funds to go towards the purchase of a new resident transport bus for CFVH Long Term Care residents. The board decided on the project earlier this year and we are just kicking off our efforts to raise the necessary $64,000 in funds for the bus,” explained Dr. Gregory Hanson, CFVH President/CEO and Foundation Director. “The new bus will replace an older one and will be utilized for transporting residents to and from appointments and life fulfilling outings that enhance their quality of life.”
Hanson added, “First Security Bank has been an excellent community partner to the Foundation over the years and we can’t thank them enough for continuing to support our mission and selecting us for this grant opportunity. This is truly above and beyond and they are directly impacting the lives of Sanders County residents with this investment.”
“The Member Impact Fund is designed to help our members champion organizations like, the CFVH Foundation, that make a real difference in their communities,” said Kris Williams, president and CEO of FHLB Des Moines. “By partnering with our members, we’re able to multiply resources and support their vital work as they continue to strengthen opportunities for the people they serve.”
Since its launch in 2023, the Member Impact Fund has provided more than $86 million in grants from FHLB Des Moines, generating over $119 million in combined support for affordable housing and community development. Notably, every eligible application submitted to the program has received funding, reflecting the Bank’s strong commitment to partnership and impact.
