Children's group donates to WPOFD

West Pend Oreille Fire District Chief Jamie Painton is grateful for the recent donation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Children's Group in Priest River.

Recently the group presented a hero's poster and 40 bags of healthy snacks for the West Pend Oreille Fire District volunteer firefighters and EMS.

"We are distributing these items in our fire trucks to be used as needed and appreciate the thoughtful donation as wildfire season approaches," Painton said.

The West Pend Oreille Fire District serves Priest River the surrounding areas. Headquartered at 61 Airfield Way, Priest River, the district operates out of four stations.

The district's mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for all citizens and visitors from the adverse effects of natural and man-made emergencies. 
Their goal is to provide a protection program through a cost-efficient approach to emergency response, fire code application and public fire education.
