COEUR d’ALENE — A former Idaho resident who was named as a money mule in a fraud scheme was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison for the crime.  

Susan White, a.k.a. Susan Milne, was handed down the sentence for participating in a fraud scheme by acting as a money mule and transmitting fraud proceeds through her personal and third-party bank accounts, U.S. Attorney Bart Davis announced. 

Records indicate that White took part in the scheme from late 2017 until approximately July 2018, when she was residing in Coeur d'Alene. The various fraud schemes included business email compromises and other internet-enabled fraud.  

“White used her own personal bank accounts and recruited or utilized accounts belonging to other individuals to receive and move illicit proceeds from the various fraud schemes. In exchange for transmitting the funds, White retained a portion of the funds deposited into the various accounts,” a USAO press release said. 

She was arrested in Newark on June 18, 2025, following investigative efforts by the United States Secret Service, and was sentenced for the crimes almost a year later June 10, 2026.  

White will also faces three years of supervised release following the completion of her prison sentence and will be required to pay $66,130.75 in restitution fees.
