MOYIE SPRINGS — A registered sex offender out of Moyie Springs was recently detained by Boundary County law enforcement after a task force found evidence to charge him with multiple counts of sexual enticement of a child.  

Gary Gene Shriver, 77, was arrested June 11 after Boundary County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of Shriver’s alleged actions. A further investigation was conducted by BCSO detective Brandon Blackmore, who was ultimately granted an arrest warrant for Shriver.  

Shriver is currently in custody at the Boundary County Jail on a $50,000 bond.  

He is being charged with ten counts of sexual enticement of a child through the internet, for allegedly obtaining approximately 77 pornographic images of children, mostly female, between the ages of 3 and 10.  

Court documents indicate Shriver downloaded the images through the search engine DuckDuckGo, a software company that focuses on online privacy.  

The images were believed to have been downloaded between Dec. 28, 2025, and Jan. 14, 2026.  

He is expected to appear in court June 26 for a preliminary hearing. 

Shriver was originally convicted on Dec. 12, 1996, in Anchorage, Alaska, for the sexual abuse of a minor.  

According to the National Sex Offender Registry, Shriver has several aliases, including Ken Shrider and Ken Richards.
