Bird Walk Planned at Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge

The Friends of Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge will host a guided bird walk on Saturday, June 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. 

Participants will meet at the Deep Creek Trailhead on Lion’s Den Road. Due to road work in the area, attendees are asked to use the designated detour route on Lion’s Den Road. 

The walk is open to bird enthusiasts of all experience levels and offers an opportunity to observe local bird species in their natural habitat while learning from experienced guides. 

Participants should dress for the weather and are encouraged to bring water, mosquito repellent, binoculars, a bird identification guide and, if available, a spotting scope.
