KCSO investigates fatal crash near Cataldo

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office responded Thursday at approximately 4:50 p.m. to a reported injury crash on east Canyon Road near south River Road in the unincorporated area of Kootenai County near Cataldo.

Deputies arrived and located a single-vehicle crash involving one occupant. The adult male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

KCSO traffic investigators are actively investigating the crash. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending positive identification by the Kootenai County Coroner and notification of next of kin.
