Kindness ensured driver made it to car show

To the good Samaritans who rescued me on the way to the Rod Benders car show on June 6.

I was on the way to the show in my 1931 Chevy when all power quit on the way down the hill going into Bonners Ferry near the Trump Country/Charlie Kirk billboard. Thank you to the two pickup trucks who stopped and one of the drivers temporarily fixed the problem of the wire from the battery to the starter that had melted on the muffler and shorted out all power.

Also, thank you to the highway patrolman, nurse and Les Schwab folks who stopped to check if I was all right.

I made it to the show and got one of the People's Choice awards.
