BONNERS FERRY — From tennis to soccer, the Boundary County Parks and Recreation department has launched sign-ups for numerous summer activities.

For residents, young and old, looking to hit the tennis courts, BCPR is offering camps for all ages. The Youth Tennis Camp will take place from July 13-16 and July 20-23. The age groups will have staggered sessions of around an hour, starting with 5 through 7-year-olds at 8 a.m. Those ages 8 through 10 will start at 9 a.m., while 11 through 17-year-olds will start at 10:15.

The cost to sign up for the youth class is $30 until June 22 and will increase to $35 until the deadline on June 29.

The adult class has a similar cost, but will take place on July 13, 15, 20 and 22 from 6 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. All tennis classes require athletic attire, tennis shoes and water, but a racket will be provided.

The county is also offering opportunities for those more in the World Cup spirit. For the youngest soccer fans under four years old, BCPR is offering a waitlist for the Little Kickers 3v3 Soccer camp.

In the sign-ups, Boundary County officials said that there might not be enough space for the division. As such, those who put their information in will not be charged but will be offered a spot if the county moves forward with the plan.

The season is set to run on Friday evenings from Aug. 24 to Oct. 2. It will cost $30 to sign up, covering the cost of a team shirt for the player. Volunteer coaches will have the fee waived.

School-age children older than 4 are eligible to sign up for the county’s Parks and Rec soccer. The cost to sign up is $30 until July 8 and will increase to $35 until the deadline on July 15.

Residents can sign up for any of the programs by visiting boundarycountyparksandrec.org/sports-programs.

In addition to the offerings from the county, coaches and players from Bonners Ferry High School’s soccer teams will be hosting a three-day soccer camp at the end of July. It is open to all incoming first through eighth graders and costs $40 to enter. Those interested can register by filling out a Google Form, which can be found at bit.ly/3SupZU5.

Lastly, the Boundary County Fair Board is hosting a cornhole tournament on Saturday, July 18. Each team is guaranteed three games, according to the event flyer, and only 40 teams will make the tournament.

The cost to enter is $50 per team, with a deadline of July 17 at 12 p.m. to enter. All proceeds will go toward the fairgrounds, but there will be cash prizes for the winners. On July 18, check-in starts at 10 a.m. and games will start at 12 p.m.
