DATA CENTERS: Noise also a problem

In addition to the major community concerns regarding data centers voiced by Ms Sedgwick in the Wednesday June 17 paper — basically, they are energy and water hogs who over-promise job growth —there is also the issue of noise pollution. These centers can generate 55-92 decibels 24/7. Think of a neighbor’s power mower going around the clock.
Local communities must have a say in this, transparency is imperative.
