Idaho man dies in crash on Highway 8

A Deary resident died in a single-vehicle crash early this morning in Latah County.
According to the Idaho State Police, the 86-year-old man was driving a Dodge Ram pickup eastbound on Highway 8 at milepost 26.8 about 4:45 a.m. when the vehicle crossed left of center and traveled off the westbound side of the roadway near Deary.
The vehicle struck a driveway entrance, became airborne, collided with a tree and overturned, the release said. The vehicle came to rest on its roof down an embankment on private property.
The driver died at the scene.
The driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, ISP said.
An investigation continues.
