Laura Ann DeLand, 67, passed away peacefully at her home in Sagle, Idaho, on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Cedar Hills Church, with Pastor Eric Rust officiating.

Laura was born April 12, 1959, at Otis Air Force Base in Bourne, Mass., to Bruce and Alice Tucker. She grew up in Granite Falls, Wash., where she graduated from Granite Falls High School. A gifted athlete, Laura excelled in basketball, volleyball and softball, and she continued to enjoy playing softball and volleyball throughout her adult life.

Following high school, Laura moved to Seattle and began a career in banking. She later married Toby McNeal in Bremerton, Wash. In 1991, they relocated to North Idaho where Laura began working in real estate, spending most of her career at Lake County Real Estate and Century 21 Riverstone. Following their divorce in 1996, Laura continued building a successful career as a respected and accomplished Realtor. She was named Realtor of the Year in 2000, she ranked No. 202 of all real estate professionals in the country for units sold in 2011, and she served as the board president and state director of the Bonner County Association of Realtors for several years. She loved her profession and remained active in real estate until the time she passed.

In 1998, Laura married Dr. George DeLand in Sandpoint. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family and community. Laura was a devoted member of Cedar Hills Church, where she faithfully served as a greeter, coordinator and participant in a life group. Her faith was an important part of her life and was reflected in the kindness, generosity and encouragement she shared with others.

Laura loved the outdoors and enjoyed traveling, shopping, sunbathing, watching the Seattle Seahawks and spending time with family and friends. Above all, she cherished her role as a wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Laura is survived by her loving husband, Dr. George DeLand of Sagle; six children, Krista (Brian) Hoff of Hauser, Idaho, Danielle (Spencer) Swerin of Sagle, Idaho, Skyler Tucker of Sagle, Idaho, Cheyanne (Jesse) Evans of Onalaska, Wash., Randy (Tralana) DeLand of Medford, Ore., and Rob (Sadie) DeLand of Gold Hill, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; and two brothers, Bruce (Kathy) Tucker of Baker City, Ore., and Wade Tucker of Granite Falls, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Alice Tucker; her stepmother, Shirley Tucker; and her nephew, Nathan Tucker.
