WGA presents $135K to nonproits

The Women's Gift Alliance awarded $135,000 to seven nonprofits during its recent Grant Awards Ceremony at the Lake City Center.

• $30,000 to 3rd Avenue Marketplace or Senior Café commercial oven and Freezer for Food Bank Market. Grant funds will enable 3rd Avenue Marketplace to replace these two old and unrepairable appliances vital to operations.

• $30,000 to Charity Reimagined for Pathways to Prosperity. Grant funds will be used to establish a 12-week trauma-informed financial empowerment and holistic wellness program designed to reduce scarcity mindset and increase financial stability among the Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) population, and low-income adults in Kootenai County.

• $30,000 to Newby-Ginnings of North Idaho to improve safety andaccess for veterans and volunteers. Grant funds will be used to purchase movable, reconfigurable industrial shelving units needed to safely operate in Newby-ginning’s newly leased warehouse space, which is more than double in size than their current space.

• $30,000 to Safe Passage for integrated legal services for survivors of violence. Grant funds will be used to implement a first of its kind integrated legal program for survivors of violence who are pursuing legal resolutions in family law, civil or criminal courts.

• Awards of $5,000 each were awarded to Coeur d’Alene Symphony, North Idaho Fair and Rodeo Foundation and Safe Start-NW Infant Survival and SIDS Alliance. 

Since its inception, the Women’s Gift Alliance grant program has awarded $1.6 million to nonprofits.
