SANDPOINT — Dane Perkl’s two-run double capped a four-run fourth inning and lifted the Northern Lakes Mountaineers past the Sandpoint Sasquatch 17U on Monday night at War Memorial Field.
“He finally got a hold of one,” Northern Lakes coach Bryce Johnson said. “He’s been working really hard, and finally got something he could handle, and ripped it down the left-field line.”
Ryker Brennan had two hits, including a single to lead off the fourth for Northern Lakes (9-2). Ethan Pecor sacrificed him to second, and Jake Larcher singled him home to tie the game. After a walk to Nate Beardsall, Matthew Junkin delivered his second RBI single of the game. Perkl then followed with his big hit.
“That was huge for him,” Johnson said. “He got out of a funk there.”
Grant Rigler allowed one hit and no earned runs in four innings for Northern Lakes.
