50 teams participate in CDA Summer Shootout

LIBERTY LAKE — Big Sky High of Missoula, Mont., won the Varsity Boys large school division at the sixth annual CDA Summer Shootout last Friday through Sunday at the HUB Sports Center.
Big Sky defeated Ferris in the championship game. Ferris beat Coeur d’Alene in the semifinals.
Northwest Christian School of Colbert, Wash., won the Varsity Boys small school division. Bonners Ferry, Coeur d’Alene No. 2, Lakeland, Coeur du Christ and Christian Center School were among the local teams in that bracket.
Ferris High of Spokane won the Junior Varsity Boys division. Coeur d’Alene, which lost to Ferris in the semis, and Bonners Ferry also were in the JV bracket.
Naches Valley High of Naches, Wash., won the Varsity Girls division, defeating West Valley-Yakima for the title. Coeur d’Alene also fielded a team in this division.
A total of 50 boys and girls high school teams from around the region participated.
