The 54 Foundation recently held its seventh annual COEUR54 golf fundraiser and presented Safe Passage with a check for $45,000.
The 54Foundation raises funds for different organizations each year and this year chose Safe Passage as it aligns with their mission statement of giving back to the community and improving the lives of our area youth through the game of golf.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Coeur 54 Foundation and everyone who participated, sponsored and supported this year's event,” said Nicole Hammons, development director of Safe Passage.
The COEUR 54 golf event is held the first week of June each year with a limited field of just 16 players. Each player fundraises throughout the community, raising awareness about the organizations they are supporting and asking for pledges of minimum $1 per hole.
The event consists of three rounds of golf in a single day at three different golf courses. The event starts at the Cd'A Public Golf Course, moves out to Avondale Golf Club and wraps up at Hayden Lake Country Club.
The 54Foundation has raised nearly $300,000 for over 40 area organizations.
“Their generosity helps ensure that Safe Passage can continue providing prevention education to students in our schools, support children and families through our Children's Advocacy Center, and offer safe shelter for those experiencing violence and instability at home," Hammons said.
