Sustainable tourism resident survey open through July

The Whitefish Sustainable Tourism Management Plan Committee is asking residents to participate in an online survey to gain insights into attitudes toward tourism. The survey is open until July 1.  

Through the city of Whitefish’s partnership with Explore Whitefish, a focus on stewardship is aimed to ensure that visitation—while the top driver of the local economy—is managed in ways that balance economic vitality with community well-being.  

The purpose of the Sustainable Tourism Management Plan is to promote sustainable community-based tourism development that is beneficial to community members and visitors. It relies on community input to identify fundamental values that underlie plan recommendations. These values are expressed as the three key pillars of community character, livability and engagement.
