PRIEST RIVER — West Bonner County School District Superintendent Kim Spacek paid tribute to a handful of staff members at last week's school board meeting.

Among those honored were library technician Janette Bradbury, who is retired after 36 years with the school district; bus driver Randall Busch, special education para-professional Cheryl Hornby, child nutrition director Terri Johnson, and Brenna Saccone, network and ISEE administrator, who is retiring after 27 years of service.

In lauding Bradbury, the West Bonner County Superintendent said her passion for reading was passed on to countless Priest River Elementary students. Bush was noted as someone who showed up every day to ensure students made it to school and then home again.

Hornby treated every child as if they were her own and Johnson worked hard to produce nutritious meals for the district's many students, even working in the trenches to ensure children were fed.

Saccone has spent her 27 years at the district ready to drop what she was working on to help everyone who needed help with technology.

It is for those reasons and more that the five deserve the district's Apple Award, Spacek said.

Board trustees agreed, noting the five WBCSD employees exemplify excellence and dedication.

"I would like to give them all a round of applause," board chair Ann Yount said. "We so appreciate the work that all these people have done in the time that they've spent in our school district. … I just want them to know how much we appreciate them."
