SANDPOINT — 7B Care Clinic has launched two new programs designed specifically for fathers: Dr. Dad and Healthy Dad.
The two courses are created to equip men with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to be engaged, present, and impactful fathers, clinic officials said.
Research consistently shows that when fathers are actively involved, families are stronger and children thrive. Kids with engaged dads are more likely to succeed academically, develop healthy relationships, and demonstrate greater emotional stability. Fathers play a vital role in shaping identity, providing security, and modeling positive behavior.
The Dr. Dad program focuses on practical parenting skills, helping fathers understand child development, discipline, and emotional connection. Healthy Dad emphasizes overall well-being, encouraging men to care for their physical, mental, and relational health so they can lead their families well.
Fathers who complete both Dr. Dad and Healthy Dad during the month of July will receive a month of free diapers, helping provide practical support for their growing families while encouraging active participation in the programs.
“These programs are about empowering fathers,” said Janine Shepard, executive director of 7B Care Clinic. “When dads are supported and equipped, the ripple effect benefits children, mothers, and the entire community.”
