PRICHARD — The Prichard-Murray Volunteer Fire Department (PMVFD) is inviting residents and visitors to support local emergency services at its annual fundraising auction on Saturday.

The event will feature both a silent and live auction, with more than 100 brand-new items donated by North Idaho businesses. The silent auction begins at 11 a.m., followed by the live auction at noon.

This year's auction includes a variety of high-profile items, including Seattle Seahawks tickets, a Yeti cooler filled with Scheffelmaier's beef, a truckload of local firewood, Gonzaga basketball tickets, specialty baskets, generators, hunting trips, and a one-of-a-kind handmade quilt created by a local master quilter.

In addition to the auction, attendees can enjoy free hot dogs and hamburgers. Organizers emphasize that 100% of all donations and auction proceeds directly support the PMVFD.

The annual auction is one of the department's most important fundraising events and helps ensure firefighters and emergency responders have the resources they need to serve the community throughout the year.

"This is one of our biggest fundraiser of the year we are a 501 c 3 department so this money and other fundraiser is how we operate on," said PMVFD Chief Chris Carlson. "Our area population doubles or triples in population in the summer so our services are very important to be able to service our area."

The Prichard-Murray Volunteer Fire Department serves residents and visitors throughout the Coeur d'Alene River corridor. As seasonal tourism increases during the summer months, the department's demand for emergency response, fire protection and public safety services also grows significantly.

Community members are encouraged to attend, bid on auction items and support the volunteers who help keep the area safe.

The Prichard-Murray Volunteer Fire Department's Annual Auction will be held at the department's station house located at 21109 Coeur d'Alene River Road.
