The Boundary County Library is inviting the community to take part in this year's Community Read program featuring “1776” by acclaimed historian David McCullough.

The community book discussion will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 2, in Portrait Hall at the Boundary County Historical Museum, 7229 Main St., Bonners Ferry. The discussion will be led by Paul Bonnell.

Free copies of the book are available while supplies last through the Boundary County Library, Bonners Books and the Boundary County Historical Museum.

The Community Read program is made possible through an Idaho Humanities Council Action Grant and encourages residents to come together through shared reading and discussion. McCullough's book explores the challenges and triumphs of the American Revolution during one of the nation's most pivotal years.

The event is free and open to the public.
