Linda Dianne Hardy, 72, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born June 6, 1954, in Tampa, Fla. Linda spent her childhood in a military family, living in Panama, Japan, Arizona and Montana. After graduating from high school in Polson, she moved across the country to Maine, where she formed lifelong friendships.

Never one to stay in one place for long, she later moved back across the country to Sitka, Alaska, where she welcomed her only child, Russell, in 1981.

An enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, Linda returned to the Flathead Reservation in 1992 to be closer to family. While Montana became home, her adventurous spirit and love of travel never faded.

Linda worked her entire life as a CNA and caregiver, dedicating herself to helping others. She was known for her kindness, her independent spirit, and her remarkable ability to maintain friendships across many states and decades. Whether visiting old friends or setting off on a new adventure, Linda never stayed a stranger for long.

She is survived by her father, Richard Hardy; brothers Ron Hardy and Calvin Hardy; son Russell Hardy; and grandchildren Trenety, Anaka and Harper Hardy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet Hardy.
