Rolled over dump truck spills asphalt and oil

Polson Rural Fire Department was dispatched to a dump truck rollover off Highway 93 near Sunny Slope Drive in Jette on Monday afternoon.
Upon arrival, units found a dump truck pulling a pup trailer, both filled with asphalt, according to the Polson Rural Fire press release. The truck had gone off the roadway and rolled over onto its top. Both Asphalt and diesel had spilled, and oil was leaking from the truck.
Capt. Grant Clapp explained that Draggin' Wagon Towing arrived with semi-recovery vehicles and large cranes to flip the dump truck back over. Clapp said crews were able to access the adjacent property to flip the truck back.
Knife River, whose truck was involved, also sent crews and several pieces of equipment to complete the cleanup effort.
The driver self-extricated himself and was transported to the hospital by ambulance, according to the press release. Polson Rural Fire and Lake County Office Emergency Management remained on scene for approximately four hours to assist with traffic control while recovery crews worked to flip the truck back over.
