The 14th annual Whitefish Woody Weekend is back and ready to kick off the summer boating season in style.
Presented by the Big Sky Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society and hosted by The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, this event celebrates the beauty, history and craftsmanship of classic wooden boats. This year promises to be the biggest yet, with more than 40 stunning wooden boats expected. The public is invited to join the family-friendly fun.
On Friday, June 26, the kick-off party begins at 6 p.m. at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake’s Tiki Bar with live music. The sunset boat parade on Whitefish Lake starts at 8 p.m.
On Saturday, June 27, the classic boat show runs from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. Get up close to admire these beautiful boats, talk with owners, and soak in the atmosphere.
On Sunday, June 28, there is a morning poker run on the lake followed by a beach barbecue at the Lodge for participants and guests.
Parking is limited at the Lodge. It is recommended to park at any S.N.O.W. Bus stop and take the complimentary shuttle for easy access.
Stroll along the docks, admire gleaming wooden boats ranging from 1928 classics to more modern beauties, vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice Award, and enjoy the chance to win a ride on one of these floating treasures.
“Whitefish Woody Weekend brings together friends, families, and boat enthusiasts from across the region to celebrate our shared love of these iconic wooden boats,” said Tim Salt, event organizer. “It’s about history, craftsmanship, friendship, and the simple joy of a Montana summer on the lake.”
This year’s event features boats from the Flathead Valley as well as participants traveling from Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Illinois.
