Chargers complete sweep of AA Lakers

Jace Komac hit a go-ahead single in the top of the seventh, and the Great Falls Chargers used a two-hit complete game from Deuce Nichols to complete a three-game sweep of the AA Lakers Friday at Griffin Field. 


Nichols allowed a Tait Orme RBI single in the sixth that allowed Kalispell to tie the game at one.  


Kyler Croft got an opening pop out in the seventh before Grayson Sloan reached on an error for the Chargers (15-1). After another pop out, Komac singled to left to score Sloan. Komac was caught out trying to extend to a double after Sloan crossed the plate. 


The Lakers couldn’t find a rally in the bottom of the inning as Nichols shut down Kalispell in order. 


Great Falls used a bases loaded walk to take the lead in the first inning, but Croft settled in after that. He allowed just three hits and fanned 10 batters. 


Nichols also sat down 10 batters. 


Beau Schulz had the second hit for the Lakers. 


Great Falls took the first two games of the series Thursday: 5-3 and 4-1. 


The Lakers are back on the diamond Tuesday against Libby at Griffin Field, first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
