Alan Craft, 31
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 1 hour, 34 minutes AGO
Alan Rae Craft came into this world in Spokane on May 17, 1995, and we are eternally grateful for the 31 years we got to spend with him before we lost him on May 31, 2026 — far too soon.
Alan spent his childhood moving with his family between the Pacific Northwest and Arizona before settling back in Spokane in 2009.
He was a 2013 graduate of Lewis and Clark High School, and in 2024 he earned his certification as a surgical technician — a career he chose at random and thoroughly enjoyed. He joined the team at Newport Hospital and fit right in from day one. He was quick to turn coworkers into friends that he loved. To dote on.
If you knew Alan, you knew his passion for games, specifically board games. He approached every game — Dungeons & Dragons, Monopoly, you name it — with an exuberant aggression that could only be described as a gift. He was in it to win it, every single time, and somehow made it fun for everyone anyway (usually).
He loved color, and flowers, and he asked each family member what their favorite flower was, then had them tattooed in bright, vivid bloom across his left arm — a flower carried with him everywhere keeping those he loved close, literally and permanently. We all desperately miss Alan’s hugs — the type of hugs you could feel in your soul.
He is survived by his partner, Cody (daughter Lillee); parents who love him, brothers and sisters who found joy in him, nieces and nephews who adored him, and many treasured aunts, uncles and cousins.
Please join us for an afternoon of festivities in remembrance of Alan the only way that is right — with hugs, games and tacos at Nyne Bar & Bistro in Spokane, Wash., on Sunday, July 12, from noon to 7 p.m. Wear your tie-dyed, bright, flowery, shiniest and sparkliest outfits in honor of Alan … and bring your competitive streak, just as he would have.
