Libby Loggers Legion team claims three wins at Big Bucks tourney

The Libby Loggers American Legion baseball team wrapped up the 2026 Big Bucks Tournament Sunday afternoon with a 13-3 win in six innings over the against the Sandpoint Sasquatch 17U team at Lee Gehring Field.
Libby took control in the bottom of the first inning when the Loggers scored 10 runs. Boe Miles had a 3-run double. Miles was also the starting pitcher and worked three scoreless innings.
Brayson Orr pitched a scoreless fourth for the Loggers.
The Loggers improved to 8-9. They'll be host AA Kalispell Tuesday and Thursday, at A Kalispell for a doubleheader that begins at 5 p.m.
The Wenatchee Valley Baseball Club won the Big Bucks tourney with a 5-2 win over the Moscow Blue Devils.
Loggers manager Kelly Morford expressed his appreciation to all who participated and supported the tournament.
"Thank you to every team, player, coach, family and fan who made the trip to Libby for another outstanding Big Bucks Tournament," Morford said. "We also want to thank the Libby community for once again welcoming our guests and helping make this one of the premier Legion baseball tournaments in the Northwest.
"Also, a special thank you to our volunteers, umpires, sponsors, tournament staff and everyone behind the scenes who worked countless hours to make this event possible. We couldn’t do it without you."
SATURDAY
Loggers 9, Wolves 4
Bransen Holzer and Dalton Cannon drove in two runs each as the Libby Loggers defeated the Central Alberta Wolves at the Big Bucks Tournament Saturday at Lee Gehring Field.
Holzer’s first-inning RBI single gave the Loggers an early lead. Cannon and Mason Crow added two more runs later in the inning as Libby jumped ahead 5-0.
Libby quickly responded with two more runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back.
Five Loggers pitchers contributed on the bump, with Boe Miles, Tanner Wolf and Hunter Rooney tossing a scoreless frame.
FRIDAY
Loggers 5, A's 4
Libby rebounded from a Thursday evening loss to Moscow with a 5-4 victory over the Flathead A’s. Boe Miles squeezed home the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to give the Loggers a walk-off win.
Flathead took a 3-0 lead in the fifth inning as two runs came in on an error before Gavin Knapp singled to left to finish off the inning.
Libby (6-9) quickly answered using three bases-loaded walks to tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Kale Riddle put the Loggers ahead with a single to short that scored Jack Nagle.
Nagle opened the seventh with a single and Libby used small ball to work him around the bases as Hall provided the winning squeeze.
Riddle threw one scoreless inning after Dalton Cannon provided six innings on the bump for Libby.
THURSDAY
Moscow 13, Libby 5
The Moscow Blue Devils took advantage of six singles and four walks in the 11th inning to put up a nine-spot and take a 13-5 victory over Libby at the Big Bucks Tournament at Lee Gehring Field Thursday.
Kale Hall tossed 3 1/3 innings for the Loggers, allowing one run on two hits.
