Marvin Steele was born in Boone, Iowa on March 21, 1939, and died in Payson, Arizona on June 5, 2026.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Candy Steele, his daughters Sarah Steele (grandsons Finn and Cy) and Rachel Steele (grandson Ellis), his sister LaVonne (Larry) Palmer.
Marvin and Candy lived in Libby from 1978 to 2017. They were faithful members of Libby Christian Church, which Marvin later helped build. Most of Marvin’s career, he worked as a contractor building and remodeling many homes in the Libby area. He was the “jack of all trades” and could build, plumb and wire a house from start to finish. You might have seen him about town in his maroon and silver work van or at the hardware store.
Marvin was a hard worker and never cut corners. Most importantly Marvin loved the Lord, followed by his family, and old cars. He prided himself on his craftsmanship, woodworking and yard maintenance. Marvin was a man of many adventures and many serious injuries.
He sometimes put on a tough guy act but was a big softy for his family and many pets over the years. He could tell a story better than most. His stories were entertaining even if you had heard them before. He was also a jokester and always cracked a smile about potty humor.
He was generous with friends and strangers, looking out for those in need of help. He is in the arms of Jesus and will be dearly missed.
